To research it yourself, look up the owner information:
http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp

75% of the time Chinese sites like this 5 month old one will be exposed.
Others lie using a fake U.S. address or a paid proxy to conceal the real owner info.

There's No Chance of getting the real deal from a Chinese site, though you could end up with nothing for your money. I wouldn't give my money to any store site with no identifying phone# or address in the Contact Us page.
