There's a difference between hacking and cracking. A hacker is a person who delights in having an intimate understanding of the internal workings of a system, computers and computer networks in
particular. The term is often misused in a pejorative context, where "cracker" would be the correct term.

What you want to do is to crack your account, and that is illegal.
If you've lost your password, there are "Lost my password" links on facebook. They will send you an email to the email address that you registered on. This way, you gain legal access to your account again.
