Windows 8 internet problems?

This is a tough case. Will be difficult to be determined due to the unspecific description... Not criticizing but if I were you I probably won't be able too because there are thousands of possibilities. I don't think that's a virus. But don't worry tho!

Yahoo Answers should do some replying interface or a forum. I can't just tell you all the possibilities in a text. You'll need reply-answer environments like tomshardware.com

But hey, here are some stuff that might help you!

1. Try troubleshooting.
Windows 8 has been improved in troubleshooting. Try right-clicking on the wifi/lan icon at the bottom-right of the screen, just beside the speaker and time icons. Then click troubleshoot. That should do it.

2. Reset the router/modem by turning them of and on. Lol the classic.

3. Release, and renewing IP addresses.
IP stands for internet protocol, just saying. Press Windows(key)+R, then type in CMD and hit enter. There, type in ipconfig /release hit enter and wait a few seconds, like 30. Then, type ipconfg /renew and enter.

4. Maybe the router you using is burnt and can no longer establish IPs

5. Your DNS address is not there, meaning something worse is wrong and need assistance from you ISP so call them. But how do you know? Well, press Windows+R and type in cmd, then type in ipconfig, enter. The default gateway should usually be 192.168.1.1, or the link is broken with your PC and the router. Or else, if it is there, go to your browser and type in that number, and enter. The default password, if you didn't change, should be 'admin', with the username, 'admin'. Search around and go around to find something similar to 'DNS Server' The address should be there, like 203.81.64.20 for example. It depends, its my current ISP's DNS server address. If nothing is listed there, contact your ISP!

Hope this helped! You can get to my profile and send me a mail anytime Smile
