First of all you need to go through all the options of Google Webmaster Tool, after everything is done here you may use some advanced tool like website auditor.

Information from these tools will help you to eliminate almost all possible mistakes. If you use even more tools, your site will get more profound.

I do believe that you need to do this by yourself, if you are doing SEO at all, cause you have to develop your skills.
