if you don't bother about privacy much and rely on facebook's security, you can add him and if you suspect he may be stalking your personal life/affairs that you would only want to share with close friends, you can 'restrict' him by adding him to restricted list, this way he will be able to see only your public posts and information. If you have only intimate friends and family on your profile then you must not add a stranger who you met out of business to your friends list. they may be bad for your connections as well!
