Question for an Attorney?

Recently I was jumped while leaving a party, i was attacked by around 3 different people given a concussion and left laying on the ground with 3 different fractures in my jaw. The police are currently trying to find the group that did this to me and i have around 10 thousand dollars in hospital bills and fees not including what my insurance covers. When my attackers are found should i sue? or do you think the settlement would be worth it? I personally want to see this people pay for what they did.
