Is this a fair way to treat a 15 year old? (Muslim)?
My best friend is 15 and is a Muslim (Pakistani origin but her and her mu were born in the UK). She has very restricting rules that most Muslims do not have to follow and I'm wondering is this fair and is it part of the religion.
she cant go out the house without her mum except school
she cant talk to the opposite gender except teachers
she cant have friends not in her school year
she cant go round her friends houses
she cant shave her legs and they're really hairy Sad
she cant have her eyebrows done
her phone is checked
she cannot have any social media accounts
she's banned from certain music
she once touched a homeless man on the back and her mum went crazy. not because he was homeless but because he was male
She has to wear t-shirts which go down to the knee
she couldn't pick her GCSE options (she's doing German, French, History and Geography)
she won't be allowed to pick her AS levels
she can't pick her sixth form/college
she can't pick her university
what i find most disturbing is her mum threatens to make her go to university in Pakistan if she gets bad grades
Her mother is also currently doing a degree and she says if she gets a boyfriend she will leave her degree and stop working. Her mother didn't eat for 2 days the last time she tried to get a boyfriend. is this right and what can she do?
