More Views on YouTube?

Well after watching a lot of big YouTubers such as PewDiePie, Markiplier, GameGrumps, shofu etc... for a long time, I have been inspired to start a YouTube channel however i'm not sure exactly how I go about getting noticed. I posted my first video today and as expected it hasn't really gotten any views and probably won't get any in the future. Can anyone give me tips on what kind of content I should post and how I can make it entertaining for people to watch? Also how I can optimize the video so that people will be able to find it and view it.

So far I was thinking about posting a pokemon wi-fi battle video on saturdays, a Horror game let's play video on Tuesdays and a Nintendo Let's Play video on Thursdays. Is this a good idea or is it stupid? Do I need to upload daily? or is just 3 times a week okay?
