The 3 most common ad sizes are:
728 x 90 = 65,520 sq pixels
300 x 250 = 75,000 sq pixels
160 x 600 = 96,000 sq pixels

As per my experience the best Ad Size is 300 x 250 = 75,000 sq pixels
