I end up getting most of my discounted items through Amazon, one of the most reliable ecommerce sites.

If you are looking for unrealistic discount prices like 1/10 list price, you might be referring to something like the Quebids penny auction site, which in reality is more of a casino than an auction, for every one who gets an item at a low price there are 10 or more who get nothing for the money they put in, there's a $60 signup deposit at quebids.
