SEO Tools after Penguin and Panda?

I completely agree, after Google animal updates you should carefully analyze every backlink source and make sure that the link you're going to get comes from a trusted source and your site won't be penalized for it.

As per my experience, those tools that provide you with numerous data and metrics are the most effective. For instance, you may have a look at Hadrian Blog - http://hadrian-mandaputra.blogspot.com/ - to get the idea. This is a one-stop solution for keyword research, rank tracking, competitor analysis and other tasks, and in my opinion is a very decent example of what SEO tools should be about after Penguin and Panda updates.

We currently use myseotool to track ranking and I agree data is extremely powerful in making decisions. However, I am still unclear as to what I should do to act on the data. Should we not publish anything at all (backlinking) and only stick to publishing unique posts on their website?
