Your meta tags are not longer a high ranking factor when google is trying to rank websites for a particular. To rank higher on google you should build an audience or community around your site. You can do that by follow SEO strategies. Google will rank your website higher for a particular keyword if it thinks that you are popular, relevant about that search query and also if your site provides a very nice user experience (people stays longer when they land on your site, or webpage).

- Make sure your site loads fast
- Name all your images on your site and add alt tags on them
- Write or provide content on your site to help visitors find the information they are looking for
- Make your site popular by sharing your content using social networks and bookmarks (Twitter, Google+, yahoo, facebook, etc...)
- Have other popular websites, blogs or forums in your niche talk your website.
- Have popular popular strong websites talk about you (ex: news outlets, magazines, Directories, and others...)
