Why isn't my website the first result when searched with the meta data I use?

There may me many reasons for not showing up on high ranking, it can be the keywords or keyphrase you are using may be of high compitition or very low local searches, keyword density in the content, image not well optimised.....then about the offpage activities for that keyword/key phrase etc..................so best way is check for the keyword anaylsis in google adwords......check for the competitor and then optimise for the particular keyword you want to come up for....hope this be help
