What is SEO on Wordpress & How to find keywords for my website?

Start by using Google Keyword Tool to get keyword ideas. Make sure you actually Google the keyword and see your competitors. It's best to avoid any authority websites (eg. walmart.com, about.com...) that have the exact keyword in their title tag you see in Google. The higher your domain authority, the more likely you are to rank high for competitive keywords. Check your domain authority at http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/

Once you have your keywords, download the "WordPress SEO by Yoast" plugin. Now in each of your pages/posts, you will see the option to set your "focus keyword" and it will tell you where you are using, and where you're not.

Yoast tells you a lot, but you should also be interlinking relevant pages/posts from both external websites and your own website. Also use variations of your keyword by what I call "butchering it into pieces" and using it's different individual words through your page.
