Depends, I am not American so I don't know what kind of Internet service you have in terms of technology. But bigger issue is whose router is that? One on lend-lease from Charter to you, purchased direct from Charter or one you bought in Best Buy?

DSL you need to make sure yourself it is scot-free from Charter.
