Actually, because you are getting your web services from these providers, they are technically not "your" URLs. What identifies a web address (actually called an internet domain name) is the first part before the .com, .edu, .gov, etc. So, for example, yourwebsite.com would belong to you but yourwebsite.google.com would belong to Google.
To "own" your own domain, you must register it with a registrar like GoDaddy or Network Solutions. Then you can pick a provider to host your website while retaining complete control over your URL. Ads |
