ELF (Eyes, Lips, Face) is a great brand sold at Target, Walmart, and other stores and they make a powder with 2% Salicylic Acid Acne Medication right in the powder.

ELF sells most of their products for $1.00 each and they're motto is to be as good as the expensive brands without breaking the bank. Their brushes are really good!

As I learned looking at the Mexican girls in my high school in Phoenix, AZ LESS IS MORE! Don't think you have to apply makeup like you're painting a wall! If it looks fake, you look BAD...

I'm a ginger/red head so I'm VERY VERY WHITE and makeup looks fake on me so I have had to learn to apply as little as possible while covering up zits, under eye bags, discoloration, etc. and I use ELF products and "Mineral Makeup" I purchased off of eBay.

This is the store I use: http://www.ebay.com/itm/8-PIECE-FULL-SIZ...5aded3912c (But mine are in "Fair", being almost albino! LOL!)

If you have a lot of discoloration, get a foundation brush and use a SUPER SMALL amount of makeup just enough to cover the discoloration then apply a light powder to set the liquid/cream foundation. I learned the secret is to dab a TINY BIT of foundation on my left hand then use the foundation brush to dab the liquid on my hand. Then you don't contaminate the whole bottle with any bacteria from your face/the brush.

Break out wise, DRY IS NOT THE OPPOSITE OF OILY!

You need to moisturize your skin to get it to not keep pumping out oil! I have VERY breakout prone skin and found that using cocoa butter lotion doesn't cause me to break out. You can apply a super small amount if you apply it right as you step out of the shower in the morning. The water on your skin allows you to use a tiny amount over a large portion of your body and then it doesn't build up and break you out.

There is NO DIFFERENCE between most brands of makeup except for the price. 99% of what they advertise is a bald face lie but because it's makeup and not a food or drug, they don't get held liable for their lies.

Go find a book called something like 'Don't go to the cosmetic counter without me' written by a woman that worked in the cosmetics industry and was disgusted by the lies so she quit and dedicated her life to debunking the bullsh*t.

OH! I googled it and she has a webpage! http://www.paulaschoice.com/who-we-are/

Here's the page on Acne & Makeup: http://www.paulaschoice.com/expert-advice/acne/

I learned about her book and the industry as a whole by watching the Penn & Teller episode called "The Fountain of Youth" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_lcOIKSdOM
(They swear a lot on that show, so turn the volume down if you're fam is sensitive. It's a DOCUMENTARY!)

Here's a post from her facebook page on how price doesn't dictate quality: DOLLARS & SENSE: Bringing You Fabulous Beauty Dupes. When it comes to highlighters, there are plenty to pick from and range from the garish or glittery to the natural and radiant. Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer is decidedly in the latter category, and a beautiful way to add luminosity to any complexion due to its range of shades. The downside? At $59 each, they are quite spendy. However, there is a drugstore alternative that is every bit as fabulous (including a fab price)! Revlon PhotoReady SkinLights Face Illuminator ($13) is a revision of their cult-fave, but drastically improved. Available in four shades, SkinLights Face Illuminator is every bit as sophisticated as the Fluid Sheers for adding a natural-looking radiance to skin, workable for any complexion or skin tone, and a steal at $13. Have you tried either one? What did you think?

* Note: Both the Giorgio Armani and Revlon version have a small amount of fragrance.
