Free internet web page advertising.?

Folks keep saying that free places to advertise your website are places like Myspace and Craigslist. I have a website to help people with anxiety and another to teach people about the cash flow business.

The things I don't understand are as follows.
1.How the heck do you advertise nationally on Craigslist?
Maybe you can't.
Also how is Facebook free advertising?
If anyone is curious or has advice one is http://www.russ-dalbey-cash-flow.com. Maybe you guys have some advertising advice. I guess you can make fun if you want. I am still learning about web design and advertising.
