You report it: They take it down. Simple as that. If they don't take it down, you sue them. 17 USC § 512
Any US-based website that receives a report of copyright infringement by its members has no choice but to promptly disable the offending materials. It has nothing to do with how "strong your case it", since they have absolutely no way of knowing who owns the copyright and who has what licenses. If someone makes a FALSE claim of copyright, the member with the copyright or license can sue for damages (if any). There are also similar hosting provisions under the European Union's Electronic Commerce Directive. |
