Why will my windows 8 not connect to the internet?

First you can check network cable connection is showing on your PC.
If yes then you can check it IP conflict. Just type Network and Sharing Center on search box click on it.
Now you are able to see your network click on it and go through this.
Properties>>Select IP Version 4 and click Properties>>Now you can change IP which are now used by any devices in your Home. Then click on OK.
