What is process to creat and launching a website?

In simplified terms:

1. register a domain name.
2. Use web editor, ie Frontpage,Dreamweaver etc,to create website
3.Obtain hosting ie Hostgator
4.Upload your website to hosting account using ftp software ie free software such as Filezilla

There are lots of other considerations such as:
a.is it to be an online store?
b.would Wordpress be suitable?
c.how much space and bandwidth do you require?
d. domain name be a .com,.net, .biz or should it be country targetted?
