Nobody here can really know, but since you asked, here' s my guess.

He has another girlfriend now. She has insisted that he NOT talk to you, and that he keep you blocked on Facebook. He's not totally happy with her and is looking around for something better.

When he saw you at soccer and you wanted to talk to him, he wanted to find out if you might still have feelings for him. By your Facebook message, he saw that you are still interested. That is all that he wanted to know, for an ego boost. He said to himself, "yeah, she still wants me" and then he blocked you again. His ego has been sufficiently boosted, and now he's done with you again.
