It's the Y-chromosome, m'dear.

Men carry the X and Y chromosomes while women have both X's. I have had to conclude over the years that there are certain chacterteristics that "reside" on that branch of the "X" chromosome that the men are MISSING because of their "Y" chromosome.

It has helped me understand the poor creatures throughout the years.
