Is Netflix better than Amazon Prime?

Amazon Prime only offers LIMITED content from the Amazon Instant library for free. They're actually two separate services (Amazon Prime actually includes a lot more than the streaming service, as I'm sure you know). Even if you're subscribed to Prime, there will be things you have to pay for on Instant because they're not eligible for Prime. Usually it will be newer content, but that's not always the case.
Personally, I prefer Netflix, becuase I know exactly what I'm getting. I pay the subscription and I have access to their entire library. You never pay extra (unless you want to add a DVD by mail plan to your account) With Amazon, I would only have free access to the Prime-flagged items in their library... not the entire Amazon Instant library (but, on the other hand, Amazon Instant gets newer shows and movies a lot sooner than Netflix does, so it's kind of a trade off). You might also want to look at Hulu Plus. It's subscription structure is the same as Netflix, but it's more focused on newer TV shows (whereas Netflix is primarily movies and older TV). Ads |
