Why did Facebook become the dominant social networking site?

I thought it's Twitter. But I don't even use facebook. I wonder which fool would put up their full personal information on the internet. Sure, it's nice to find people you're looking for, I once found a gurl that I stayed in a hostel with, but it's just silly.

And trends come and go. Myspace was once the big thing because it offered something new for that time - socializing. And then other websites came that offered something more amazing, the website itself simply looks more attractive, or just the change to something else feels good. When I look at old myspace layout, it reminds me of '90s video games with not so pretty video quality.
