Why are 12 year olds so lovesick for one direction?? I'm thirteen and i dont get it?

It really depends on the age I think. I feel like anyone under the age of 13, who loves One Direction likes them more so for their looks. They can't relate to any of the music & are a bit too young(I think) to understand their personalities & jokes. I think fans 13&up understand more. I'm 13 & I love One Direction. I don't JUST listen to the music. I watch interviews and things like that. I guess you could say I am obsessed but it's for different reasons than other people, especially those who are younger.

Other people may have gone through tough times & just appreciate the fact that they bring them some sort of happiness. They aren't 'obsessed', just highly appreciative of the fact that they can cheer them up in their darkest moments.

My dad even said, when he was younger, and the Beatles first came around, girls loved them for various reasons. He says he understands cause he was there for Beatlemania. Girls thought they were hot, they liked the music. Guys liked the music, too.

(This probably didn't help at all but oh well.)
