I guess like everyone appreciate if they are smart and relevent and don't like them if they are random and not relevant - the equivalent of phone calls offering you insusrance compensation and double glazing. I do really like those automated confirmations you get when booking a service (gas services/breakdown recovery etc) as they confirm the phone conversation - not really advertising as such but they do represent the brand so might be part of marketing communications.
