what is facebook and how does it work?

Facebook is an online community similar to myspace, but much more organized. It's more for the people that like to just talk to friends, because facebook doesn't have the level of profile personalization that myspace has.
However, it does have fun applications that you can add to your profile such as [Top Friends, Superwall, Compare Friends] that are just for socializing or even games such as [Vampires, Bloodlines, My Heroes] that you can play on your free time.
It's also much easier to find friends on facebook than myspace. When you first make an account, you can upload your contacts from your email and facebook will find friends for you. Also, it continually suggests 'people you may know' so that you are continually meeting old friends. I recently found my fifth grade teacher on facebook through that service Smile
There are also groups and artists that you can cheer for; I am a member of no fewer than 6 groups, and still counting; it's a fun and interesting way to meet new people that share your interests.
If you like analyzing yourself, there are also tons of quizzes that are plain silly or random.
It's also somewhat like Twitter because there are status updates and you can comment on your friend's status so that you can start up a conversation.
There's even chat on Facebook, and you don't even need to download any software.
Happily, facebook doesn't need any downloads to your computer; it's purely online.

Well, this is from the girl that uses facebook more than myspace or twitter, so it's your decision to join or not Smile
