Do I not give this guy a job?
My company is hiring a part-time assistant to help get us up to speed on things we don't have time to do like updating twitter and filing. I called someone that I originally turned down for another job as I was originally impressed with him, even if I didn't hire him the first time. Since I've called him the following has happened:
-It took him 3 days to respond to an email I wrote him. -He agreed to meet me this morning to go over the details of the job and he canceled an hour before the meeting via TEXT MESSAGE. -He's spelled my name wrong twice already (my real name is not the name I use on Yahoo). Is it appropriate by now to tell him that he's not right for the job? I don't want to come off as a cold and heartless, especially in this job market, but I can't hire someone this flaky and who can't even take the time to see how my name is spelled. Imagine if he did the same thing with a prospective client. Thanks for advice everyone! I really appreciate it. I called him and told him that it wasn't going to work out. Ads |
