He doesn't really sound very enthusiastic; if he really wanted the job, he would do everything he could to convince you to give it to him, such as show up at arranged times or at least have the curtesy to call and cancel as much in advance as he could. You're right about the name thing, too. I suggest you look for someone else and just tell him that you're sorry however you have found someone who is better suited for the position
