This kind of reminds me of the "fans" that got upset over the portrayal of Rue as a black girl in the Hunger Games movie. The thing is, Rue's physical description screamed "person of color" in the novel.
@Scrimshaw, stop foaming at the mouth. Blacks are not constantly culturally appropriating themselves. Like Noelle said, Annie is a fictional character. Historical accuracy is not being undermined in order to encourage racially diverse roles in film. If Abraham Lincoln was played by Morgan Freeman, for instance, that wouldn't make much sense.
