Was this really mean of me to say?

Just because you have sex with somebody else doesn't have anything to do with you moving on from a past boyfriend. But that's not your question...

I think it was very immature for you to write that on her facebook page. I also think that it is very cowardly for people to to call other people names on the internet, through text, through e-mail, etc. Because would you have really said that same thing to her face? If you wouldn't say something to a person's face, then you shouldn't be typing it. People feel empowered by the internet because they can be mean and catty to people without having to immediately deal with the consequence of how that person will react, but that's not a very good habit of behavior to get into. How would you like it if some girl that an ex is now dating posted on your fb page saying "Hey slut, I hope you enjoy sloppy seconds, whore"? I know you probably consider yourself a tough person, but be honest, that would hurt your feelings, wouldn't it?

Why do you feel the need to be so mean to someone else? You're acting like a bully. Do you want to be a bully?

I'm not trying to be condescending, just want you to try think about this in a different way than you are. You may be rolling your eyes as you read this, which is fine, you're entitled to your opinion. But I challenge you to really think about how mean it was for you to write that to someone, and how immature it is to post things like that on facebook, a public place for everyone to see. If you are thinking "it's not immature, I had a reason to write it...." or whatever your reasoning is, ask yourself, is this how adults act? Do you see your parents, teachers, other professionals acting like this? No, and adults aren't going to take you seriously if you continue to speak this way to people.

Ok, I'm done! Again, not trying to talk down to you at all, everyone goes through something like this in their lives, this is meant to be food for thought.
