I know what you are going through from personal experience and its tough. Its kind of natural to be left wondering what you did wrong for this to happen. What you need to know is that it is all on him. He is the one that quit trying to make things work between you, and he is the one that decided to look elsewhere to get what was missing instead of coming to you and discussing it.

The reason he got so upset when you broke up is that you were probably still fulfilling some of his needs. I don't know specifically what they are but it could be something as simple as doing his laundry, cooking meals, or anything like that really.

I don't think there is anything wrong with you, other than feeling hurt and vulnerable right now. This will pass with time and you will be able to get on with your life normally. In the meantime do things that make you happy and keep your mind off him. Hang out with family and friends that love you, and by all means ignore what the ex is doing. He should be dead to you. Oh, and realize that if he tries to get back with you there is an ulterior motive.
