these are the sites I use

http://www.guidetojapanese.org/learn/
- Has a complete guide (good in my opinion)
http://japanese.about.com/
- Another Japanese course
http://www.memrise.com/home/
- Has many different courses
http://jisho.org/
- To use as Japanese to English
http://www.alc.co.jp/
- To use as English to Japanese
http://addruby.com/
- To add furigana to sites
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detai...fpcebammhp
- Chrome add that helps you with kanji on sites
http://lang-8.com/
- To share you progress and let native speakers help you!

As for a schedule I say it's up to you! Onnly study till you are 'interested', I mean, don't push yourself to study for, let's say, an hour if your attention is only half an hour, study for half an hour and practice for at least another 15 minutes (of course I'm saying random times, you make them for yourself)
for exaple I study for an hour and practice for 10 minutes before going to sleep, then I practice the day after in the morning for another 15 minutes, to make sure I learnt something!
But really you have to find your own pace! C:
