The connection problems you are describing sound like a common issue with wifi if you are at the limits of its transmission. You may need a repeater to extend to the area your in or reposition the wifi router in a more central location in the home.

Additional problems are that Microwaves and wireless telephone handsets can work on the same frequency of the WiFi and may cause interference. Set the WiFi to use channel 1 as most other technology is set to increase the channel when looking for a clear frequency and tends to default up to channel 6.
