Will there ever be more than one new episode a month for The Big Bang Theory?

Counting last week's episode, there are currently at least 3 episodes running weekly right now. The big break in episodes you just experienced was due to the Olympics. It's just not profitable for the major networks to run new episodes at that time as too many viewers are watching Olympic coverage. They might even lose regular viewers if they missed new episodes during that time.

Another point is that shows ran every single week back when there were only 4, 6, 8 or 25 channels to choose from because a show would be able to reach a large enough audience to merit producing tons of episodes. That's no longer true. Most series have several breaks in new episodes during the season now. That's just the way it is. The networks like all businesses have to remain profitable or they would go out of business.
