She&#x27;s taking this approach (saying she&#x27;s popular) because she wants you to think she&#x27;s cool. She wants to be your friend but lacks the proper social tools. She confided in you that she&#x27;s being bullied as a cry for help.

Be warned that befriending her will not make her different. She has to change in her own.
