More information needed.

Are you using a wireless connection? If so, try connecting directly to the modem and test speed again.

reply and let us know how you got on, we can try a few more things to see if we can fix it.
Also the spec's of you pc will help us deliver a better response to your question.

Type of computer?
What operating system?
Wireless or wired?

ok, Thanks for replying,
There could be a few reasons why your connection is dropping off.

1,You may need to update the software for your router, Check there website again and see if a update is available.

2, Do you have a cordless phone in the house, I ask this because sometimes your router and cordless phone will broadcast on the same frequency ie 2.4 GHz. This will slow down your connection. If yes you will need to change the frequency of your router, This can be done in the settings of your router.

3, Test to see are you losing data more commonly known as packet loss. This can be done by pressing "windows key and R" at the same time. This will open the run command box. Type "cmd" and hit enter. Then type ‘ping 192.168.0.1 -t’ (without the quotes and note the spaces) and hit enter and let it run for a few minutes. In the results you will see how many packets of data were sent and received. So if you sent 50 packets of data and only received 20, your computer has to resend the data over the network, thus slowing your connection. if its only a difference of say 50-40 its ok as this can just be noise on your network. There are many reasons for packet loss including signal degradation over the network, channel congestion, corrupt packets rejected in transit, faulty networking hardware and faulty network drivers, updating your router should help solve this issue.

If you are still experiencing problems contact your ISP for help. .
