Google has datacentres around the world with several in some countries and it is possible that each of these has a different set of results databases. Hence it might be the case that your browsers are looking at different sets of results.

As far as visiting frequently, there used to be a suggestion that this was the case and if you are signed in to Google with your google account you can "star" a result but the vast majority of web pages are on the top of the results for reasons other than the fact that you visit them frequently.
