A patch cable is the term for a cable running from your machine into the wall/switch/router or the cable running from a patch panel in a server room to the switches. Same thing. So an Ethernet cable is the same as the "patch cable". Patch cables just describes its function.

A network cable just describes that the cable is used for networking. It could be ethernet, coax, fiber, etc. In this case, it is a RJ45 Ethernet Cat5e cable.

To answer your question, yes this is a cable that can be used on the majority of home equipment. This is nothing more than a Cat 5e Ethernet cable. According to the picture, it is a UTP cable wired as 568B.

This is not a cross over cable. This can be used to hook up a desktop, laptop, wii, xbox, etc.. to your internet (wireless router or to your ISP's equipment). This is just an ordinary home networking cable.

If you want more knowledge that probably is useless to your needs, TIA 568B is one of the two standards for Ethernet wiring. It describes how the wires are crimped into the connector at the end. It does not matter if you buy 568A or 568B. they both do the same thing. A cross over cable would have one end wired for 568A and one for 568B. This does not seem to be the case so you are safe to buy this.

Be careful not to run more than 100M of wire at once as this will cause issues. 100m is 328 feet. If you need longer than that, use a repeater. I doubt you will need more than 328 feet of wiring though!
