How can I fix this Blu-ray situation?

Try downloading the updated firm-wear file onto a blank writable CD or DVD disk instead of a USB pin drive .that should work better...also be for you do that erase all memory from the player or format the Blu ray player to original factory specifications there should be a reset option in the start up menu or there may be an option called erase all memory....this will clear out the internal memory of the player so that it will have room for the update....also if you place a blank pin drive into the USB connection and just leave it there this also will allow the disks to play smoother and give the player more memory to use...if there is a USB on the back use that one first...
