I upgraded my CPU to core 2 quad Q9550 and it works slower than expected, please help?
I expected it to have a super speed as described by sellers on amazon. Now the thing is, my Hard Disk is failing, sometimes making weird knock sounds.

Could my computer lag be caused by hard drive failing and not necessarily a bad CPU chip?

it takes 6 seconds for google chrome to open up, is it actually normal for Core 2 quad processor??
