How to ask a girl out?

I really like this girl and right now it's the right time to ask her out she put up a twitter status saying she wants to ask a guy out, she only really would be meaning me or this other guy. How should I ask her out? How should I cope with rejection? How should I try to keep our friendship if it goes wrongly? I tried asking someone else out by text and she didn't believe it was me and then I chickened out and said it was my cousin on my phone... What is the best method of asking without text? I know there is face to face but I am not very confident. Do you have any tips even if it is by text or face to face- I would be very grateful... Ps. I am 15 if that makes a difference Nd have never had a girlfriend before. Ps I would also like to refrain from asking her on a date if possible (just ask her to be my gf). Please don't laugh haha.
