You seem to be missunderstanding in it is not faith that is being stonned but what mankind chooses to validate or substantiate with that faith. If you ask "what has it done to you" you have not studdied history much.
I believe to kill those who don't believe just as you believe could be considered forcing a faith down a throught wouldn't you?
I would not say that they are heaven bound for most of the Theists I have meet spend more time violating the laws of their gods than most everyone else such as sitting in judgment of, baring false witness and promoting hatrid of their fellow man.
