Playstation internet connection failed ?

Where is the modem in relation to the PS3? If the modem is far away from the PS3, either move the modem into the same room or remove any objects that may be disrupting the Internet connection. When we play online on the PS3 we either move the modem to the same room as the PS3 or we open all doors and move all objects that may be interfering with the Internet connection.
