Guild Wars Internet Connection Requirements?

I'm currently considering buying guild wars.

My internet connection is the best there is on the market-in rural mississippi anyway..

I can play such games as Runescape with ease, I could previously play starcraft, but now, for some reason, it reports everyone's latency as being too high..not to sure of the cause...

My internet speed is reported to be 80kbps, but i believe it's more like 50kbps.

Do you guys think i will be able to play effectively on guild wars?
Thanks, great answer, i'll soon check to see if i should switch zones..i live in mississippi, i have it set east, i'll try south...both shouldn't work horribly ...
