why doesnt my computer like google chrome?

I always used to use google chrome on my computer until recently, when it started running reaaaaaally slow and kept saying the page has stopped working, kill or wait for page?
I uninstalled it and uninstalled some other things on my computer that could make my comp run slow.
I installed explorer for the time being, but i have now just re-installed chrome and my computer still doesnt like running fast with it. I really like google chrome and Im used to it and all its cleverness about it.
I was just wondering if anyone knows why this is happening or am i just going to have to put up with explorer?
