Difference between updating content on site and Blog?

Blogs in general are a way to keep content fresh on a website, but more importantly, it gives readers trust that you are an expert in your field.

The blog really should be on your site, if you want it on blogger or wordpress, make sure each article points back to the original on your own domain (yoast plugin for wordpress can auto add "original posted on link" to each blog entry on your RSS feed)

If you feel that market isn't benefitting from a blog, then maybe social media would be more of the focus to help you get traffic.

Also - you may want to look into vanity urls if you are creating blog entries to remove the .html or any other extension.
