YouTube Videos Still Playing?

So I don't know if this is a new update or what, but is anyone else viewing a video on YouTube, and you click out to go to the YT home page and you still hear the audio of that video playing up until the video ends? This is happening on both of my computers, one a year old and one 2 weeks old. So if anything, this should only be happening to one computer and not both. If this is yet another retarded update, is there a way to turn it off without muting the computer? The videos only continuously play if I remain on YouTube.
