Why do so many Marines say not to join...?

The fleet refers to the operating forces of the Marine Corps which consist of active duty Marines. Each unit is different. In some unit, leaders treat Marines like 4 year olds when the situation doesn't require it (if Marines were that immature they shouldn't join anyways.) In other units, they treat you better. Your assignments and job may also determine which unit you go to as well.

College is good when you know what you want to major in and if you take the time to research the job market in that education field. If you don't do either, then it's gonna suck in the long run.
